Grasping God’s Word

Okay, this is a text book that I used while in seminary at Liberty University to study a method of Bible Study called “Inductive Bible Study”. While it is a college level book it is easily understood when the text is used in the step by step fashion in which it is presented. However, it is not a book that one can skip and jump here and there and expect to get the full benefit of the material contained within. Basically, the jist of the book is to put aside everything that you think you know regarding Scripture and to read each passage as if you are reading it for the first time. Then, using basic tools and techniques, one begins to “discover” the truth contained in Scripture rather than “interpreting” what we think the Scripture means or what we have always been taught to believe that a passage means. It is a method of study that allows you to explore and discover God’s Word. Indeed, this book helped me fall in love with God’s Word!!! It will take time to complete the book and exercises. I completed them in eight weeks but I suggest that you spend at least twelve to sixteen weeks learning what this book has to offer. You will not be disappointed once you have these study principles under your belt.
