A New Beginning

Let’s be honest here. Lonnie Richardson Ministries drew its first infantile breaths late last year. Just as a baby learns to identify his/her parents certain developmental milestones began to be accomplished, God graced us with a small measure of success. However, we also found ourselves stumbling over some astounding failures. I’m afraid that those failures are my fault for the most part. Like a baby that had just begun to learn how to crawl, I wanted to be up running but a proper amount of time in prayer and planning had not been initiated. I had written opening posts for two series, “Let’s not play church” and “The Lord’s Prayer” when a voice deep inside my spirit whispered, “Don’t write anything else!”

Fearing that I had, in some way, grieved the Holy Spirit I pulled my fingers from the keyboard as if pulling my hands from searing flames. I prayed for an answer as to why and I got nothing. The next Sunday my Pastor began a series on The Lord’s Prayer and Obedience! I had my answer. It was not intended for me to precede the message God had given our Pastor. So, instead of just not writing, I foolishly just did nothing. That was a big mistake on my part.

A month later my wife asked me why I was not doing anything with the Lonnie Richardson Ministries site and I re-iterated to her that I had been commanded to not write anything else. Her response was, “The Holy Spirit told you not to write anything. He did not tell you to quit working on everything!” I had to ask forgiveness for my neglect for the misunderstanding was truly mine alone. So Cheryl and I began revamping what was honestly a truly dismal blog/web site. We began praying for guidance and understanding. We began studying training materials from other churches and ministries that were making an impact for God’s kingdom. We have spent the last four months praying, learning, and planning. Now we are ready and have begun to initiate the plan prayerfully.

The site as you see it now is more appealing and useful. At least it is in my opinion. No, it is not in its final form. It is in a process of evolving and it will continue to grow. We will be using more graphics, photos, audio, and video. There are several additional elements that will be added very soon. We are working to make Lonnie Richardson Ministries more relevant, interactive, and informative, while maintaining the integrity of the Gospel. I pray that you are blessed by the work God has done through us. Share us with your friends. By helping us expand our realm of influence for God you are helping expand God’s kingdom.
