It has been a hectic time…

I am truly amazed that God can love someone like me. God is so good and I am so stinking rotten. I have been lax on posting here during the month of February and as I look over the reasons I fear that I must admit that those reasons are no more than a collection of excuses. Excuses, as I was taught, are really something that you attributed more importance to than what you really should have been concentrating on. What I should be concentrating on is loving God, loving people. I have failed. I openly and freely admit my own short comings and own my personal mistakes and this will be no different. I can only give an account of what has transpired and ask for forgiveness.

In February, I encountered two court cases involving other members of my family (both children) both of which could have turned out badly. I will not give details but know that when I say they could have turned out badly, I mean BADLY. A considerable amount of time and effort was spent in prayer(remember Prayer in Daily Living?) in regards to these two family members. God heard those prayers and responded in supernatural ways that still have me reeling. Likewise, I responded to God’s response by delving even more deeply into prayer offering honor, glory, praise, and thanksgiving!

Also, my church moved from one facility to another last November and in February it was brought to our attention that the new facilities would not be available much longer. Again, many hours of praying were invested (there’s that Prayer stuff again) towards finding us a new home. An offer was made on another facility which was promptly turned down. Yet, we continued praying. I am able to report however that God, once again, stepped forward and proved faithful to the faithful and we now have a permanent home facility. God is so good.

Another thing that has occurred is that I suffered an injury recently where I tore the calf muscle and ligament in my left leg. It was a very painful incident and I currently write while wearing an orthopedic boot with the benefit of anti-inflammatory medications with the occasional tablet to manage pain.

However, in looking back I can say that I have effectively practiced what I preach so to speak. February brought me to pray fervently each day and to seek God’s Word for wisdom. In doing so, God has answered my pleas for help. In relating those instances to you I am witnessing to you what a great and powerful God we serve. In prayer, Bible Study, and Witness to you I also have been successful in providing some discipleship in regards to how God has worked in my life this past month.

You know, February was not wasted with only 4 posts being submitted. God took me on a journey to re-iterate to me how important Prayer, Bible Study, Witnessing, and Discipleship are as activities of daily living. Indeed, they have proven most important to me as I am sure that they are or will be important to you. Love God, Love People. God Bless!

In His Grip,

Lonnie Richardson
